CLARE CARSWELL STUDIO
Clare Carswell MA(RCA) is a British contemporary artist who makes vibrant and expressive drawings and prints. Drawing is a constant activity in her studio and is made alongside her other work as a performance artist and a curator.
Rich in colour and imagery, her drawings combine observation with folklore and mythology, memory and imagination. They are often inspired by the natural world - the gardens and landscape of the Vale of White Horse Oxfordshire - where she lives and has her studio. She exhibits in the UK and internationally. She has taught art in higher education in the UK and overseas as well as in the community. She now teaches small group art classes in her studio.
COU COU Studio is set in a lovely garden in the the Vale of White Horse in Oxfordshire. You can see the ancient earthwork and hill fort from the garden. Clare has spent most of her working life as an artist in urban and shared studios and so loves working here and sharing it with others. Everyone who spends time in it finds it to be a creative and tranquil place.
